Hei Feng Xi and Bai Feng Xi, two renowned martial artists, who become embroiled in a conspiracy while striving to stop a war from spreading across the land.
Oh, a lot. The fight scenes are really well made, with original techniques and a lot of energy. I hadn’t even realized I needed a good martial arts drama until I started this one.
The Hei-Bai pair have a great dynamic which reminds me a lot of Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu in Word of Honor, and I really love the way they’re equally competent, smart and respected.
And of course, I’m always a fan of clever, misunderstood characters, so of course Hei Feng Xi’s beautiful cunning brain makes me very happy.
I Don’t Like…
The acting is nothing to write home about, but it’s decent enough. I think Yang Yang has progressed.
I’m also not particularly fond of those love triangles I can see looming so far, but if they don’t actually become a problem, then it’ll be fine.
