In a post-apocalyptic world dominated by the so-called “Numbers,” each human will have their identity branded with their own “Count,” which could define any number related to their life.
Hina has inherited a mission from her mother: to search for the Legendary Red Baron. In her adventure, she meets a half-masked swordsman named Licht who tries to hide his identity, as he is known as a degenerate for having an incredibly low Count.

In this trainwreck’s defense, I’ll admit I forgot to check the tags, and therefore failed to notice the “Ecchi” part. Read on to find out more about my bitter, bitter regret of this unfortunate oversight.
A Disastrous Start
I hated the first episode. It was the worst introduction I’ve ever got for a protagonist. To be short, they show him as a sexual predator harassing women all over the place. On the other hand, every woman around kicks him around like some sort of giant soccer ball, which I guess I probably was supposed to laugh at? And then, you get this stupid, naive heroine who just believes whatever any stranger says to her.
And then, within one episode (that’s 20 minutes!), you get at least two different men forcing this girl to spread her legs so they can take a look at her number, which is, conveniently, located on her inner thigh!
Needless to say, the show was going to have to work a lot to make up for this catastrophe of a first episode. I will never stress this enough: sexual. harassment. is. not. okay.
A Disastrous Everything
I mean, I was going to give it 10 episodes, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. The perverted behavior keeps going, with entire episodes dedicated to absolutely nothing but the “protagonist” doing his best to get his head between girls’ legs (nope, I’m not kidding here, folks). This guy was so unlikable that when he did get into trouble, I just watched on in bored indifference.
As of episode 7, which is, as a reminder, about a third of the way in, there has been zero plot advancement. Zero. And I mean, if even I can predict what’s going to happen just because I’ve watched a lot of animes, then I don’t see the point of wasting time here.
The graphics are pretty on close-ups, but as soon as you zoom out, the characters are ugly as all heck. And those masks the main character wears are just grossing me out. Eww.
You got it: life’s too short to waste it on this trash. I’m out.
To think this was my first anime in months.
